Project highlights
Emirates Global Aluminum (EGA) is one of the largest premium aluminum producers in the world, and accounts for around 4% of the global aluminum production. With a client so big, requirements and expectations were even bigger.
- Fabrication, supply and erection of steel structures and roof panel
- Column splices designed over 6 feet above the top of steel
- Difficult to allow the connectors, bolters and welders to work without scaffolding or floats
Final outcome of project
We redesigned the column splices around 4 feet above the top of steel, making the following tasks much easier:
- Allow attachments for the top safety wire rope to be placed on the column
- Allow the erectors, bolters, and welders to work without scaffolding or floats
- Provide for uniformity in shipping, unloading, sorting and erecting columns
